We provided an extensive range of environmental services which supported the successful applications for necessary permissions for proposed development works at the Hunterston Construction Yard Site. The proposed development incorporated proposals for installation of a new quay wall, dredging and infilling of the Hunterston dry dock to upgrade the site and provide an increased working platform for future use of the port facility. The site forms part of the wider Hunterston Strategic Asset which is designated as a National Development in the Scottish Government’s National Planning Framework 4.
Our environmental support incorporated technical assessments across both the marine and terrestrial developments including for example: EIA, Marine Construction Licence Application, Capital Dredge Application, production of Geo-Environmental Reports as well as significant engagement with consultees given the site is located immediately adjacent to the Southannan Sands SSSI.
